Utah women who are looking for advice on obtaining and maintaining employment now have a new guide: Utah Careers Supplement for Women. The Department of Workforce Services just released this free booklet as a supplement to Utah Careers, the department's career guide.
Lecia Langston, DWS economist, said in a news release that the new booklet gives advice, help and information to Utah women who are looking for employment or who are already employed.
"Despite conventional perceptions, women in Utah participate in the labor force at a higher rate than the national average," Langston said. "That's partly a result of our young demographics. However, in Utah most married women work, most mothers of preschoolers work and 75 percent of Utah mothers of school-age children work outside the home." The booklet is available at any DWS office.
