Utah’s rate of foreclosed homes dips

Sales of homes in Utah in some stage of foreclosure declined in the first three months of the year, but they still accounted for more than 15 percent of all home sales — a share three times higher than what it would be in a healthy housing market. Foreclosure-related sales in Utah are down nearly 70 percent from the first quarter of 2010 and the state’s share of foreclosure sales is significantly lower than the U.S. average. Nationally, sales of homes in some stage of foreclosure accounted for nearly 28 percent of all home sales. Salt Lake Tribune
