In 2010, Utah’s local governments — such as cities, counties and school districts — cut their payrolls while most similar governments nationwide raised theirs. However, the state government in Utah not only increased its payroll, but also hiked it by about a third more than average for states nationwide. That’s according to data released Tuesday by the U.S. Census Bureau, from its Annual Survey of Public Employment and Payroll. Salt Lake Tribune
