The West Valley City Council, sitting as the Redevelopment Agency Board, is slated to vote Tuesday on whether to approve an agreement with ICO Management, an Ivory Homes company, to build a proposed high-end apartment complex as the residential portion of the downtown Fairbourne Station. The Planning Commission gave its preliminary approval earlier this week.
With 225 units on a 2.86-acre site, the four-story development would have the highest density — 78.7 units per acre — in West Valley City, The apartment complex would be built at 2900 W. Lehman Ave. (3590 South). The city has purchased the small homes and businesses on the site and will clear them off the land, which would be sold to ICO. ICO would take out a loan backed by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to build the $25 million complex.
