The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from DOL. The 4-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has increased from the revised number of 380,205 last week to 388,250 this week.
The report dated December 16, 2011 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending December 10, 2011. During this week, 2,791 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 2,844 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the 4-week moving average.
- 2,819 initial UI claims filed (increase of 22 from the prior week and decrease of 502 from same week in 2010)
- 21,533 continued UI weeks claimed (increase of 765 from the prior week and decrease of 4,845 from same week in 2010)
- 12,618 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (increase of 57 from the prior week and decrease of 7,263 from same week in 2010)
