The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The 4-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has decreased from the revised number of 376,500 last week to 373,250 this week.
The report dated 5 January 2012 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 31 December 2012. During this week, 4,053 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 2,558 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the 4-week moving average.
- 3,014 initial UI claims filed (increase of 302 from the prior week and decrease of 672 from same week in 2010)
- 23,688 continued UI weeks claimed (increase of 673 from the prior week and decrease of 5,012 from same week in 2010)
- 12,653 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (increase of 20 from the prior week and decrease of 6,844 from same week in 2010)
