The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The 4-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has decreased from the revised number of 377,750 last week to 375,750 this week.
The report dated 2 February 2012 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 28 January 2012. During this week, 2,320 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 2,372 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the 4-week moving average.

- 2,653 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 433 from the prior week and decrease of 1,111 from same week in 2011).
- 26,695 continued UI weeks claimed (increase of 543 from the prior week and decrease of 5,089 from same week in 2011).
- 12,171 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (decrease of 240 from the prior week and decrease of 6,870 from same week in 2011).
