The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The 4-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has decreased from the revised number of 377,250 last week to 366,250 this week.
The report dated 9 February 2012 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 4 February 2012. During this week, 2,129 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 2,320 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the 4-week moving average.

- 2,369 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 284 from the prior week and decrease of 786 from same week in 2011).
- 26,748 continued UI weeks claimed (increase of 53 from the prior week and decrease of 5,666 from same week in 2011).
- 11,918 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (decrease of 253 from the prior week and decrease of 6,834 from same week in 2011).
