The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The 4-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has decreased from the revised number of 356,250 last week to 355,000 this week.
The report dated 22 March 2012 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 17 March 2012. During this week, 1,616 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,968 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the 4-week moving average.

- 1,822 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 31 from the prior week and decrease of 302 from same week in 2011).
- 23,974 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 713 from the prior week and decrease of 5,829 from same week in 2011).
- 11,710 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (increase of 7 from the prior week and decrease of 5,978 from same week in 2011).
