The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The 4-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has decreased from the revised number of 366,000 last week to 359,000 this week.
The report dated 23 February 2012 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 18 February 2012. During this week, 1,738 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,868 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the 4-week moving average.

- 2,014 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 159 from the prior week and decrease of 477 from same week in 2011).
- 26,290 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 334 from the prior week and decrease of 5,936 from same week in 2011).
- 11,669 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (decrease of 148 from the prior week and decrease of 6,763 from same week in 2011).
