The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The 4-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has decreased from the revised number of 354,750 last week to 362,000 this week.
The report dated 8 March 2012 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 3 March 2012. During this week, 1,968 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 2,019 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the 4-week moving average.

- 1,898 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 40 from the prior week and decrease of 257 from same week in 2011).
- 25,304 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 517 from the prior week and decrease of 5,905 from same week in 2011).
- 11,676 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (increase of 18 from the prior week and decrease of 6,390 from same week in 2011).
