The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The 4-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has decreased from the revised number of 369,250 last week to 374,750 this week.
The report dated 19 April 2012 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 14 April 2012. During this week, 2,263 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 2,022 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the 4-week moving average.

- 2,072 initial UI claims filed (increase of 162 from the prior week and decrease of 280 from same week in 2011).
- 20,348 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 931 from the prior week and decrease of 6,252 from same week in 2011).
- 11,436 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (decrease of 142 from the prior week and decrease of 5,625 from same week in 2011).
