The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The 4-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has decreased from the revised number of 368,500 last week to 365,000 this week.
The report dated 29 March 2012 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 24 March 2012. During this week, 1,655 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,616 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the 4-week moving average.

- 1,731 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 91 from the prior week and decrease of 401 from same week in 2011).
- 23,140 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 834 from the prior week and decrease of 5,923 from same week in 2011).
- 11,700 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (increase of 10 from the prior week and decrease of 5,825 from same week in 2011).
