The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The 4-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has increased from the revised number of 384,250 last week to 379,000 this week.
The report dated 10 May 2012 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 28 April 2012. During this week, 1,843 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,832 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the 4-week moving average.

- 1,990 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 126 from the prior week and decrease of 558 from same week in 2011).
- 18,590 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 846 from the prior week and decrease of 6,736 from same week in 2011).
- 10,739 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (decrease of 394 from the prior week and decrease of 5,940 from same week in 2011).
