The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The 4-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has increased from the revised number of 379,750 last week to 375,000 this week.
The report dated 17 May 2012 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 5 May 2012. During this week, 1,714 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,843 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the 4-week moving average.

- 1,913 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 77 from the prior week and decrease of 456 from same week in 2011).
- 17,714 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 876 from the prior week and decrease of 7,093 from same week in 2011).
- 10,292 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (decrease of 447 from the prior week and decrease of 6,208 from same week in 2011).
