The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The 4-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has increased from the revised number of 382,750 last week to 383,500 this week.
The report dated 3 May 2012 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 21 April 2012. During this week, 1,832 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 2,263 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the 4-week moving average.

- 2,116 initial UI claims filed (increase of 44 from the prior week and decrease of 350 from same week in 2011).
- 19,436 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 912 from the prior week and decrease of 6,486 from same week in 2011).
- 11,133 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (decrease of 304 from the prior week and decrease of 5,742 from same week in 2011).
