The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The 4-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has increased from the revised number of 370,750 last week to 374,500 this week.
The report dated 31 May 2012 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 19 May 2012. During this week, 1,854 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,769 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the 4-week moving average.
- 1,795 initial UI claims filed (increase of 6 from the prior week and decrease of 364 from same week in 2011).
- 16,401 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 578 from the prior week and decrease of 7,055 from same week in 2011).
- 9,353 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (decrease of 447 from the prior week and decrease of 6,714 from same week in 2011).
