The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The 4-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has increased from the revised number of 376,000 last week to 377,750 this week.
The report dated 7 June 2012 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 26 May 2012. During this week, 1,702 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,854 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the 4-week moving average.
- 1,760 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 35 from the prior week and decrease of 406 from same week in 2011).
- 16,012 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 390 from the prior week and decrease of 6,823 from same week in 2011).
- 8,932 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (decrease of 421 from the prior week and decrease of 6,881 from same week in 2011).
