Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The 4-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has increased from the revised number of 387,250  last week to 385,750 this week.

The report dated 5 July 2012 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 23 July 2012. During this week, 1,729 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,702 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the 4-week moving average.

• 1,803 initial UI claims filed (increase of 7 from the prior week and decrease of 214 from same week in 2011).
• 15,325 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 137 from the prior week and decrease of 6,050 from same week in 2011).
• 7,665 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (decrease of 217 from the prior week and decrease of 7,084 from same week in 2011).
