Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has increased from the revised number of 348,500 last week to 345,750 this week.

The report dated 27 June 2013 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 15 June 2013. During this week, 1,667 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,666 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.

• 1,730 initial UI claims filed (increase of 1 from the prior week and decrease of 105 from same week in 2012).
• 14,233 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 74 from the prior week and decrease of 1,338 from same week in 2012).
• 3,032 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (decrease of 133 from the prior week and decrease of 5,165 from the same week in 2012).
