Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has increased from the revised number of 352,500 last week to 345,250 this week.

The report dated 13 June 2013 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 1 June 2013. During this week, 1,865 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,720 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.

• 1,702 initial UI claims filed (increase of 69 from the prior week and decrease of 58 from same week in 2012).
• 14,434 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 257 from the prior week and decrease of 1,578 from same week in 2012).
• 2,988 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (decrease of 105 from the prior week and decrease of 5,944 from the same week in 2012).
