Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has increased from the revised number of 345,250 last week to 346,500 this week.

The report dated 25 July 2013 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 13 July 2013. During this week, 1,582 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,976 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.

• 1,691 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 21 from the prior week and decrease of 148 from same week in 2012).
• 14,021 continued UI weeks claimed (increase of 38 from the prior week and decrease of 1,248 from same week in 2012).
• 2,906 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (increase of 5 from the prior week and decrease of 4,206 from the same week in 2012).
