Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has increased from the revised number of 341,750 last week to 335,500 this week. 

The report dated 8 August 2013 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 27 July 2013. During this week, 1,494 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,341 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.

• 1,598 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 29 from the prior week and decrease of 181 from same week in 2012).
• 13,946 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 66 from the prior week and decrease of 1,222 from same week in 2012).
• 2,860 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (decrease of 20 from the prior week and decrease of 3,753 from the same week in 2012).
