Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has increased from the revised number of 332,750 last week to 330,500 this week. 

The report dated 22 August 2013 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 10 August 2013. During this week, 1,456 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,548 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.

• 1,460 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 32 from the prior week and decrease of 182 from same week in 2012).
• 13,546 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 234 from the prior week and decrease of 1,232 from same week in 2012).
• 2,788 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (decrease of 9 from the prior week and decrease of 3,405 from the same week in 2012).
