Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 15 May 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 323,250, a decrease of 2,000 from the previous week's revised average.

The report reflects unemployment numbers for week-ending 10 May 2014. During this week, 1,674 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,644 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.
  • 1,716 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 24 from the prior week and decrease of 379 from same week in 2013).
  • 13,182 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 384 from the prior week and decrease of 3,431 from same week in 2013).
  • 1 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (no change from the prior week and decrease of 3,795 from the same week in 2013).
