Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 28 August 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 300,750, an increase of 4,750 from the previous week's revised average.

The report reflects unemployment numbers for week-ending 23 August 2014.  During this week, 1,276 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,270 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.
  • 1,321 initial UI claims filed (increase of 46 from the prior week and decrease of 139 from same week in 2013).
  • 11,082 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 209 from the prior week and decrease of 2,465 from same week in 2013).
  • 0 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (no change from the prior week and decrease of 2,788 from the same week in 2013).
