The Utah Department of Workforce Services currently is listing over 27,000 job openings. The jobs range from housekeeping positions to aerospace engineers. DWS spokesperson Curt Stewart says the department has been seeing a bit of growth in the job orders received, which he says is encouraging.
"We've been averaging around 8,000 job orders (per month) for the last six months," said Stewart. "That's multiple jobs in every one of those job orders." He says the department, just like everyone else, is hoping the economy turns around -- and they are seeing some good signs.
