Hotels statewide filled 63.9 percent of their rooms last month, up from 60.2 percent in September 2009. That’s the seventh straight month in which occupancy levels exceeded year-earlier numbers. The monthly rate of improvement is consistent with the year-over-year gain for the January-through-September period. It is up 2.5 percent this year from 2009, rising to 62.4 percent, according to the latest monthly report from the Denver-based Rocky Mountain Lodging Report. Salt Lake Tribune
