Utah receives average grade for manufacturing

Utah was among the 20 states that received a C grade from the 2011 Manufacturing and Logistics National Report. The study by Ball State University's Center for Business and Economic Research grades each of the country’s 50 states in various areas of the economy that underlie the success of manufacturing and logistics.
The report showed Utah with grades of C in manufacturing; C- for logistics; B for human capital; an A for benefit costs; C in global reach; C for productivity and innovation; an A for tax climate; B for diversification; and a grade of B for availability of venture capital. Deseret News
