Homelessness among veterans declines in Utah, nation

The number of homeless veterans dropped 12 percent between 2010 and 2011. The numbers, which show a drop from 76,329 to 67,495 homeless veterans, are contained in a supplement to the Annual Homeless Assessment Report being released Tuesday by the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Utah had 330 homeless veterans on the day last January when the head count was taken. That was drop in homelessness of 2.7 percent over early 2010, when 339 veterans in Utah were homeless. Salt Lake Tribune
