Analysis ranks Utah No. 2 in job growth

A research professor at the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University ranked Utah second in the nation for job growth from January 2011 to January 2012.

In his analysis based upon data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Lee McPheters reported that Utah tied with West Virginia as the No. 2 state in the nation, with a job growth rate of 2.6 percent.

Utah added 30,300 jobs from January 2011 to January 2012, according to Mark Knold, senior economist at the Utah Department of Workforce Service. Salt Lake Tribune
