Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has increased from the revised number of 351,750 last week to 345,750 this week.

The report dated 11 July 2013 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 29 June 2013. During this week, 1,611 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,593 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.

• 1,634 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 64 from the prior week and decrease of 169 from same week in 2012).
• 14,036 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 105 from the prior week and decrease of 1,289 from same week in 2012).
• 2,957 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (decrease of 64 from the prior week and decrease of 4,709 from the same week in 2012).
