Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has decreased from the revised number of 315,000 last week to 308,000 this week. 

The report dated 26 September 2013 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 14 September 2013. During this week, 1,459 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,678 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.

• 1,527 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 29 from the prior week and decrease of 96 from same week in 2012).
• 12,619 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 132 from the prior week and decrease of 581 from same week in 2012).
• 2,650 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (increase of 7 from the prior week and decrease of 2,348 from the same week in 2012).
