Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for Oct. 3

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims has decreased from the revised number of 308,750 last week to 305,000 this week. 

The report dated 3 October 2013 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 21 September 2013. During this week, 1,443 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,459 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.

• 1,496 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 31 from the prior week and decrease of 115 from same week in 2012).
• 12,495 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 124 from the prior week and decrease of 443 from same week in 2012).
• 2,665 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (increase of 15 from the prior week and decrease of 2,190 from the same week in 2012).
