Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for Oct. 10

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 325,000, an increase of 20,000 from the previous week's unrevised average of 305,000.

The report dated 10 October 2013 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 28 September 2013. During this week, 6,094 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,443 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.

  • 2,669 initial UI claims filed (increase of 1,173 from the prior week and increase of 1,101 from same week in 2012).
  • 12,380 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 114 from the prior week and decrease of 339 from same week in 2012).
  • 2,631 continued EUC08 weeks claimed (decrease of 34 from the prior week and decrease of 2,061 from the same week in 2012).
