Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 20 February 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 338,500, an increase of 1,750 from the previous week's unrevised average of 336,750.

The report dated 20 February 2014 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 15 February 2014. During this week, 1,650 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,906 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.

• 1,802 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 127 from the prior week and decrease of 427 from same week in 2013).
• 20,709 continued UI weeks claimed (increase of 6 from the prior week and decrease of 2,959 from same week in 2013).
• 20 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (increase of 6 from the prior week and decrease of 4,971 from the same week in 2013).
