Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 6 March 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 336,500, a decrease of 2,000 from the previous week's revised average of 338,500.

The report dated 6 March 2014 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 1 March 2014. During this week, 1,502 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,465 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.
  • 1,631 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 96 from the prior week and decrease of 254 from same week in 2013).
  • 20,121 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 327 from the prior week and decrease of 3,063 from same week in 2013).
  • 17 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (decrease of 3 from the prior week and decrease of 4,707 from the same week in 2013).
