Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 13 March 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 330,500, a decrease of 6,250 from the previous week's revised average of 336,750.

The report dated 13 March 2014 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 8 March 2014. During this week, 1,466 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,502 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.
  • 1,521 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 110 from the prior week and decrease of 268 from same week in 2013).
  • 19,649 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 472 from the prior week and decrease of 3,079 from same week in 2013).
  • 10 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (decrease of 7 from the prior week and decrease of 4,542 from the same week in 2013).
