Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 20 March 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 327,000, a decrease of 3,500 from the previous week's unrevised average of 330,500.

The report dated 20 March 2014 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 15 March 2014. During this week, 1,443 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,466 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.
  • 1,469 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 52 from the prior week and decrease of 297 from same week in 2013).
  • 18,984 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 665 from the prior week and decrease of 3,183 from same week in 2013).
  • 4 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (decrease of 6 from the prior week and decrease of 4,449 from the same week in 2013).
