Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 17 April 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 316,250, a decrease of 4,750 from the previous week's revised average.

The report reflects unemployment numbers for week-ending 12 April 2014. During this week, 1,768 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,499 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.
  • 1,491 initial UI claims filed (increase of 81 from the prior week and decrease of 111 from same week in 2013).
  • 15,532 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 836 from the prior week and decrease of 3,610 from same week in 2013).
  • 1 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (no change from the prior week and decrease of 4,147 from the same week in 2013).
