Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 3 April 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 319,500, an increase of 250 from the previous week's revised average of 319,250.

The report dated 3 April 2014 reflects our unemployment numbers for week-ending 29 March 2014. During this week, 1,339 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,356 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.
  • 1,401 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 41 from the prior week and decrease of 341 from same week in 2013).
  • 17,290 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 905 from the prior week and decrease of 3,627 from same week in 2013).
  • 1 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (decrease of 3 from the prior week and decrease of 4,307 from the same week in 2013).
