Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report for 8 May 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 324,750, an increase of 4,500 from the previous week's revised average.

The report reflects unemployment numbers for week-ending 3 May 2014. During this week, 1,644 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,769 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.
  • 1,739 initial UI claims filed (increase of 36 from the prior week and decrease of 348 from same week in 2013).
  • 13,565 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 528 from the prior week and decrease of 3,443 from same week in 2013).
  • There were no continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (decrease of 1 from the prior week and decrease of 3,868 from the same week in 2013).
