Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 29 May 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 311,500, a decrease of 11,250 from the previous week's revised average.

The report reflects unemployment numbers for week-ending 24 May 2014. During this week, 1,334 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,518 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.
  • 1,542 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 109 from the prior week and decrease of 222 from same week in 2013).
  • 12,701 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 222 from the prior week and decrease of 3,011 from same week in 2013).
  • 0 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (no change from the prior week and decrease of 3,339 from the same week in 2013).
