Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 5 June 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 310,250, a decrease of 2,250 from the previous week's revised average.

The report reflects unemployment numbers for week-ending 31 May 2014. During this week, 1,313 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,332 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.
  • 1,459 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 83 from the prior week and decrease of 237 from same week in 2013).
  • 12,464 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 237 from the prior week and decrease of 2,660 from same week in 2013).
  • 1 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (no change from the prior week and decrease of 3,217 from the same week in 2013).
