Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 17 July 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 311,500, a decrease of 3,500 from the previous week's unrevised average of 315,000. 

The report reflects unemployment numbers for week-ending 12 July 2014.  During this week, 1,716 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,296 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.
  • 1,442 initial UI claims filed (increase of 72 from the prior week and decrease of 193 from same week in 2013).
  • 11,681 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 110 from the prior week and decrease of 2,355 from same week in 2013).
  • 0 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (no change from the prior week and decrease of 2,957 from the same week in 2013).
