Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 10 July 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 315,000, an increase of 500 from the previous week's revised average.

The report reflects unemployment numbers for week-ending 5 July 2014.  During this week, 1,296 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,333 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.
  • 1,370 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 74 from the prior week and decrease of 328 from same week in 2013).
  • 11,791 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 111 from the prior week and decrease of 2,350 from same week in 2013).
  • 0 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (no change from the prior week and decrease of 3,021 from the same week in 2013).
