Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 24 July 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 309,000, a decrease of 3,000 from the previous week's revised average.

The report reflects unemployment numbers for week-ending 19 July 2014.  During this week, 1,321 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,716 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.
  • 1,417 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 25 from the prior week and decrease of 295 from same week in 2013).
  • 11,644 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 37 from the prior week and decrease of 2,339 from same week in 2013).
  • 0 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (no change from the prior week and decrease of 2,901 from the same week in 2013).
