Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 31 July 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 302,000, a decrease of 7,250 from the previous week's revised average.

The report reflects unemployment numbers for week-ending 26 July 2014.  During this week, 1,093 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,321 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.
  • 1,357 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 60 from the prior week and decrease of 334 from same week in 2013).
  • 11,589 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 55 from the prior week and decrease of 2,432 from same week in 2013).
  • 0 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (no change from the prior week and decrease of 2,906 from the same week in 2013).
