Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 7 August 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 297,250, a decrease of 3,500 from the previous week's revised average.

The report reflects unemployment numbers for week-ending 2 August 2014.  During this week, 1,345 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,093 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.
  • 1,369 initial UI claims filed (increase of 12 from the prior week and decrease of 259 from same week in 2013).
  • 11,511 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 78 from the prior week and decrease of 2,501 from same week in 2013).
  • 0 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (no change from the prior week and decrease of 2,881 from the same week in 2013).
