Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report for 18 September 2014

The latest Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Report is now available from the US Department of Labor. The four-week moving average of nationwide initial claims was 304,000, an increase of 750 from the previous week's revised average.

The report reflects unemployment numbers for week-ending 13 September 2014.  During this week, 1,250 initial claims were filed in Utah compared to 1,141 the prior week. The numbers listed below are based on the four-week moving average.

• 1,227 initial UI claims filed (decrease of 5 from the prior week and decrease of 274 from same week in 2013).
• 10,607 continued UI weeks claimed (decrease of 303 from the prior week and decrease of 2,620 from same week in 2013).
• 0 continued Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC08) weeks claimed (no change from the prior week and decrease of 2,666 from the same week in 2013).
